Why is it called Pizza Margherita?

The story tells us that Raffaele Esposito, the best pizza maker (pizzaiolo in italian language) of XIX century, has prepared in honor of Queen Margherita a tomato and mozzarella pizza (tomato, olive oil, mozzarella, basil) which colours recalled the Italian tricolor.
The Queen liked it so much that she sent written compliments and thanks to Esposito. The proud italian pizzaiolo gave the name of the Queen to his new culinary creation. Since then for all it is called: “Pizza Margherita”.

Thanks to your comment Juls…oregano is one of the ingredients of Pizza Marinara. I’ll correct it right now!
