The Cinepattone is served!

Italian zany comedy:cinepanettone

What a clever word: “cine” stands for cinema and “panettone” is, togheter with Pandoro, the culinary symbol of Italian Christmas.
What does it mean? It is used for Italian zany comedy coming out during Christmas time and it was originally referred to the movies of the actors Massimo Boldi and Cristian de Sica. The word “Cinepanettone” has lost the original disparaging meaning and it is even used by the same actors and film directors! From 2001, every story is set in a different place but takes always place during Christmas and New Year: the Cinepanettone 2011 is “Christmas holidays in Cortina” and is set the popular winter sport resort of Cortina, in Italy.
