A trip in Rome can turn into a unique and unforgettable experience also for our kids. Rome is a city full of suggestive places able to intrigue children of all ages. One glance over some famous sites, like the lock of the gate on the Aventino hill  where the view reaches straight to the dome of St. Peter, or the ancient Bocca della Verità, the Gianicolo Terrace with its cannon and all the underground world of the Roman catacombs, is enough to understand that even a simple walk and a careful account may hold many surprises. Let's proceed in order since it is so important to find the right solution suitable for our children different in ages and attitudes.

First of all Rome boasts the presence of numerous green spaces, parks, places that reveal not only to be fun but also learning places. Villa Borghese, for example, is a very attractive destination during a trip in Rome with your kids because of its beautiful gardens, but also for the numerous opportunities you can choose between: the touristic train, the cinema for the children, the lake with boats, pony rides and especially the Bio Park Zoo and one of the most famous daycare of the municipality of Rome's named the Casina di Raffaello. Bio Park organizes various activities projected to make aware our kids on nature, animals’ behaviour and their habitat. The daycare instead is an amazing place for children aged 3 to 10 years to express themselves through creativity and game. It organizes regular events and workshops with artists. Another park particularly sensitive to little ones is Villa Torlonia. The Technotown Museum offers children aged 11 to 16 years the opportunity to learn about technology through games and interesting workshops.

With the passing of time Rome has learned to meet the needs of kids. Three examples of excellence in children’s amusement and education are: the planetarium of Rome, The Children's Museum Explora and the Museo Civico di Zoologia. The planetarium provides visitors the opportunity to find out the origins and the final frontiers. It also offers children's events and shows in the dome. Reservations are required. The Children's Museum Explora is a permanent structure, a child friendly city for children aged 0 to 12 years offering a list of activities to choose : birthday parties, cooking workshops, readings animated, summer camps, exhibitions. All in the name of creativity and play as tools for growth. The Museo Civico di zoologia, located next to the Biopark Zoo is said to continue the natural history tradition of the Gabinetto di Zoologia dell'Università Pontificia and the collections date from 1792 . It proposes theme – based weekend for children aged 5 to 11 years with tours also outside the city to stimulate the knowledge of nature and science through a direct experience and fun.

If you are interested in music and to visit the suggestive Auditorium Parco della Musica or simply to make a different experience, don’t miss the popular season of informative concerts, shows and events dedicated to children organized by Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. It offers weekend events and lively lesson concerts  for all ages in which the characteristic of the music are explored.

But Rome is also and especially the city of glory and splendor of the ancient Romans. And gladiators hold a particular fascination even on the youngest. The 3d rewind Museum offers a journey at the time of the imperial Rome. The suggestive movies, spectacular special effects, costumed guides, will introduce our children to history through an amazing experience through the latest technologies. Finally, we have to keep updated our agenda with the many ideas that animate the city through all its seasons. A  suggestion: from 17 to 25 of March is the time for "La festa degli alberi", a rich event with workshops and meetings  projected to celebrate the trees in the city parks.
