La Festa del Mare - Workshops, sustainable development, shows, concerts and exhibitions

Located in the province of Nuoro in Sardinia, Siniscola boasts a large amount of archaeological evidences, which attest the historical importance of the region during the past.
Siniscola is well known by Sardinians for the beauty of its beaches, like the wild and enchanting Berchida, named the most beautiful Italian beach a few years ago.

In this lively city, home of the Sardinian ethno-rock group Kenze Neke, Legambiente organizes, in the first week of September, the 8th edition of “La Festa del Mare” – The Festival of the sea, an international festival of ecology.

During three days, 2nd – 3rd and 4th of September, Santa Lucia (a charming fishing village) in Siniscola will be the stage of the festival focused on sea themes which counts debates, exhibitions and much more.

While the debates of La Festa del Mare will be about the themes of water and environment in Sardinia there will be environmental awareness campaigns and exhibitions of photography, handicraft and local products during the three days.

Tastings and children activities, theatre shows and workshops with an environmental focus will be part of this 2011 edition.

Each day will end with music, concerts and folk dances in Piazza della Torre.

The past editions of La Festa del Mare have boasted more than 150.000 guests and about 370.000 visitors in their website.
