Through some pictures of Milan...
I'll give you some ideas on what to see during a trip to the city

Pictures of Milan - The Cathedral

It is the most popular among the photos of Milan. As you would expect, Milan's Duomo, or cathedral, is in the centre of the city. Building work for the cathedral started in 1386, but construction was only completed in 1769; but reconstruction work is constantly being carried out. The highest point of the cathedral is the golden Madoninna, a statue of the Virgin Mary.

Pictures of Milan - Galleria Vittorio Emanuele

The trip through the best pictures of Milan isn't complete without the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele! It is another of the most popular attractions of the city centre. It's a beautiful arcade with a stunning glass roof which runs from Piazza Duomo to Piazza Della Scala. It was built between 1865 and 1877, and contains many designer shops as well as restaurants. In the centre of the arcade, underneath the glass cupola, there is a design in mosaic of Turin's coat of arms. The tradition says that spinning three times on the bull's genitals brings good luck!

Pictures of Milan - Colonne di San Lorenzo

Another interesting sight in the centre of Milan is the Colonne di San Lorenzo, more commonly known as just the Colonne. It makes for a stark contrast to the modernity of Milan, as it's the most famous Roman ruin in the city. The columns are in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo, and the area is popular for socialising at night and for having a break during daytime.

Pictures of Milan - Castello Sforzesco

There's even a castle in the city centre! It's Castello Sforzesco, which used to be the residence of the Duchy of Milan. Now it's a popular tourist attraction and also houses many art collections and museums.

Pictures of Milan - Parco Sempione

Parco Sempione is the large park in the city centre, you'll reach it after walking through the castle. It was opened in 1888 and offers a welcome green space to relax in the city.

Pictures of Milan - Arch of Peace

Walk through the park and you'll reach the Arco della Pace, the Arch of Peace. It's an impressive marble construction, which was completed in 1838, but construction began in 1807 when Milan was under Napoleonic rule.
