The Queen Margherita of Savoy, who had inspired Raffaele Esposito to prepare a special pizza for her, has also been the inspirer of a special Christmas dessert: the Panforte. In 1879, the Queen Margherita visited the city of Siena; a dry-salter decided to modify the original recipe of Panpepato and created the Panforte, an italian dessert with a softer taste and with vanilla sugar instead of black pepper.
What else may have inspired the Queen?
