Location

Founded in 1874 and renovated in 1907 by Maestro Ernesto Basile, the Grand Hotel et Des Palmes is an exciting journey through time. A luxurious 19th-century hotel with an Art Nouveau atmosphere, it was once the residence of illustrious names, including the composer Richard Wagner.

About half an hour by car you can reach the elegant Mondello, Palermo's historic beach, an ancient fishing village with turquoise waters where there is a Liberty-style bathing establishment from the early twentieth century. If you want to snorkel or dive, you can opt for the nearby Sferracavallo Beach, where you can enjoy fresh fish dishes in its seaside village, or the Capo Gallo Marine Protected Area. Here you can dive down to 50 metres to discover the coral-rich seabed in an uncontaminated sea, go on excursions to the Grotte dell'Olio, Grotte della Regina or Grotte Caprari, or reach the spectacular Secca di Barra.
