Simply, it refers to the action of swept all the face-up cards from the pool!

Italians have been playing Scopa for over 400 years armed with neapolitan cards and all their ability. The point is that playing scopa can be not only highly entertaining but it is also a card game where skill and chance are the key to the outcome of the game.
