I have to confess: for me, the set of rules about pasta benefits promoted by nutritionists are a good justification to keep on eating it without feeling guilty than a reason to eat healthier.
The “health factor” is a plus, of course: we all know the benefits of pasta, symbol of Italy, the Mediterranean diet, natural antidepressant and bearer of good cheer!
For Italians, pasta is not just something to eat. Who of you has already read our article about Italian coffee, could think “you had written the same about coffee!” Well, you are right: both are very important parts of Italian culture and both are worth to be mentioned.
How do you eat it?
I personally prefer what we call “short pasta” (pasta corta) than spaghetti; I eat it only “al dente” and if I have to choose among a first pasta course or a second course (meat, fish, whatever!) I have no doubt.
Just like me, every Italian has its preferences in fact of Pasta. Very important is also choosing the right format according to the dressing or condiment used. Some time ago, we’ve shared with you our Infographic about the different kinds of pasta collected. Here it is:
Now, we would like to ask you: What’s your favourite pasta sauce/condiment?
In our next posts we will give you some advice….stay tuned!
